Next GHA education event - Monitoring
Burdens Environmental are proud sponsors of the Good Homes Alliance and are pleased to announce a GHA Carbon Reduction Event in London.

Good Homes AllianceThe next GHA event on Monitoring - Proving carbon reductions & informing a low carbon future, kindly sponsored by the Energy Saving Trust, is in London on April 23rd: 1.30 – 5.30 pm.  GHA have a really strong line up of speakers, including English Partnerships and the Energy Saving Trust, and have invited several monitoring companies to display at the event - Thermographic cameras, sensors, in-house displays, air tightness testing etc. - there will be plenty of opportunity to chat with them and see their equipment, so do come along and take part.
We also have a great venue at the Cruciform lecture theatre, kindly provided by UCL Bartlett. Please have a look at the flier on the website www.goodhomes.org.uk/events/ and book your place on info@goodhomes.org.uk. The GHA have a 300 capacity venue so please pass the flier on to colleagues and other organisations who might be interested in attending.

Stamford Brook – evidence and guidance on delivery of low energy homes

We are pleased to confirm that the GHA has been awarded funding from UrbanBuzz to work with Leeds Metropolitan University and UCL Bartlett, to condense and disseminate the learning from 6 years of monitoring at Stamford Brook. This development of 700 homes, with the National Trust as the client, was developed to an energy standard 20% above 2002 Building regulations. The LowCarb4Real project will run a series of free workshops in June, July and September on design, construction and process learning and lessons, with one seminar in London and repeated in Leeds. We will confirm the dates on the website shortly.

We have some posters on the GHA website which detail some of the key findings from Stamford Brook.

GHA Policy work on the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH)
We discussed the GHA position paper on the CSH with DCLG at the CSH technical guidance group earlier this month. The group acknowledged the issues but limited their immediate response to preparing a statement for the CLG press office. We are currently exploring our next steps on this issue and have offered to research the scale of the problem and report back to the next DCLG meeting - if your organisation can assist with this research, then please contact the GHA. Copies of the final position paper are available on the GHA website
