We can help reduce surface water run off through a variety of permeable surfaces. Our Integra 500 and Agrablock can be infilled with gravel for a cheap effective free draining surface or with top soil and grass for a reinforced grass surface. Ideal for occasional parking areas, please see illustration below for finishes. Integra 500 is a high strength material capable of HGV loadings. For block paving solutions we offer Aquaflow blocks, each block has slots cut out of them to allow for free drainage. And what’s more is there are cost savings to be made with less requirement for underground drainage pipes.

Reducing surface water run off is traditionally done at ground level. In recent years the UK has seen an increasing popularity with grass roofs. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, they are effective in reducing surface water run off by holding in water. This also helps reduce the “Urban Heat Island effect” - and acts as a haven for wildlife.

Burdens Environmental’s range of stormwater storage tanks help you cater for those 100 year worst case scenario storms. Burdens are now pleased to offer a new Flood Defence Bag made from heavy duty absorbent paper. This product was developed for the Ministry of Defence as a protection aid in bomb disposal.
