New companies and entrepreneurs taking part in Green Shoots at Ecobuild 2009 will have the chance to compete head to head for a cash prize of £,3,000 and where applicable a distribution agreement courtesy of Burdens Environmental.

The second Ecobuild annual award for Innovation in Sustainable Design & Construction will take place in recognition of the wealth of inspiring new products to be shown at the event, and finalists will present to a panel of judges in the Great Green Shoot Out live in the Arena at Ecobuild on 03 March.

The popular Green Shoots area for new companies and entrepreneurs at Ecobuild will feature over thirty exhibitors demonstrating a diverse range of new products, ranging from coconut-shell interior panels and green oak street furniture to advanced LED lightbulbs and waterless composting toilets.

Ecobuild, the world’s biggest event dedicated to sustainable design, construction and the built environment, returns to Earls Court between 3 – 5 March 2009. Attracting in excess of 30,000 visitors, the exhibition will feature 800 suppliers of sustainable construction products and services, and over 500 of the most highly-regarded speakers will present more than 100 conference and seminar sessions.
