Stormcell

Stormcell® is a high void ratio plastic matrix produced in blocks of 2.4m x 1.2m in plan and between 120 and 520mm in depth. The matrix is made up of vertically aligned polypropylene hexagonal tubes which gives it exceptional ability to withstand vertical loads with very high crushing strength (40 tonnes/m2) and high creep resistance. Stormcell® blocks have a void ratio of 95% which gives it up to 3 or 4 times the storage capacity of granular material.

A proven cost effective approach to alleviating flood and stormwater run off and providing an engineered solution to the challenges of SUDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems).

• Large area storage - used with WTB Geotechnics permeable hard or softlandscape paving systems stormwater can percolate directly into the storage facility, thus eliminating the need for stormwater drainage. Stormcell® can also be used in place of tanks, culverts or oversize pipes for storage.
