Rainwater Harvesting - on a pallet
The ever increasing cost and scarcity of water within the UK has meant that we are more concerned than ever about conserving water. One of the simplest methods is to “harvest” the water off our roofs. This simple method can account for up to 50% of a typical family’s requirement and is suitable for toilet flushing, washing machines, garden irrigation and car washing.
Up until now the high cost of such systems have resulted in them being used selectively rather than en mass. This hasn’t been helped by the necessity of specialised transport to carry such large tanks & mechanical lifting equipment to position them.
The Solution
Burdens Environmental rainwater harvesting system on a pallet solves all these problems. With three typical sizes (2,000, 3,000 & 4,000 litres) these systems are flexible enough to cater for most domestic situations.

The secret of the range lies in two areas: Firstly the whole system comes on a single pallet so it can be delivered by normal transport and is light enough to be hand carried through difficult routes to the back of properties if required. Secondly, by the use of SCS Aquavoid-D units supplied in flat packed form it is simplicity itself for a competent DIY’er to assemble and install the system.
The System
A typical pallet consists of:
a) SCS Aquavoid-D units to make up the tank, specially adapted to suit.
b) A special combined geomembrane & geotextile to wrap around the units.
c) Double sided tape to enable sealing of the finished storage unit.
d) 450mm dia access shaft together with a domestic cover and frame
e) High capacity pump together with cabling to create a “mains pressure” return.
f) A calmed inlet & sealed boss to go through the sealed system.
g) An adjustable filter chamber to catch sediment.
h) An automatic shut off valve to protect the pump.
