Grass & Gravel Porous Paving

Grass and gravel reinforced surfaces have become very popular over the last ten years. Developers are increasingly choosing to include within their schemes paved areas which replicate natural grass or gravel whilst maintaining the structural performance associated with more traditional forms of paving.

Both grass and gravel systems help towards sustainable drainage as water can naturally infiltrate into many sub soils. They offer ideal solutions to a variety of applications. The cross sectional diagram below illustrates how the system takes shape.

Applications

  • Overflow car-parking areas
  • Access roads
  • Footpaths
  • Verges
  • Emergency access lanes
  • Vehicle hard standings
  • Pedestrian areas

Products

The Burdens branch network stocks 2 different products both made from recycled polyethylene.

Agrablock: Pedestrian, Cars Light Commercial
Integra 500: Heavy Vehicles

Both Agrablock and Integra offer reinforcement to gravel and grass surfaces via reinforced plastic block with cells containing your infill materials. The reinforced cells help prevent the erosion of grass surfaces and allow containment of a gravel infill.
