Welcome to the Eco Joe Blog

Burdens Environmental’s blogger Eco Joe is the founder of Ecomerchant which has now been added to Burdens portfolio of green businesses. Joe Wild (Eco Joe) found that whilst working as a builder surveyor in the late 90’s, obtaining information on Eco materials was difficult and sourcing the materials were even harder.

That is why Joe established Ecomerchant to plug the gap in the builder’s merchant market. Joe very much believes in supporting the growing campaign to promote the development of energy efficient and healthier buildings through the use of natural, breathable materials. He said “There are two sides to why I decided to get involved with this industry, one was for promoting healthy building techniques and ‘reducing’ pollution and the other for energy saving, this is something I feel very strong about.”

Joe's experience in this industry is what he intends to pass on to you through this blog, giving advice, tips and his knowledge of Eco materials. If you come across any new ideas for Eco materials, He is always looking for new products and ideas- he would be delighted to hear from you.

Once again welcome to Eco Joe's Blog, for more details why not get in touch ?

Joe Good to see that you

Joe Good to see that you are still around. Please could you give me a little bit of guidance? I have a bedroom with 9" solid walls and I want to insulate inside. There is a certain amount of condensation so would like the best way of combatting the cold and the condensation. Can you help at all? Regards Andy

Hi Joe I was wandering if

Hi Joe I was wandering if you could give me the best advice as to what to use on the internal face of an external solid brick wall to insulate it? The building is an extension to the main house and is north facing and the cold is causing condensation on the walls. It is used as a bedroom so there is no extra source of water vapour going into the area. I should be grateful for any advice you could give. Andy
